ORGANISERS of Woodford Folk Festival say this year's program is the most diverse in the event's history.
The festival, which is held on Woodfordia; a 500 acre property approximately one hour's drive north west of Brisbane, will take place from December 27 to January 1.
The annual event is taking place for its 31st year and has grown into the largest not for profit festival in Australia.
This year it will feature 2,500 artists performing in 400 acts across 25 venues across a wide variety of genres including music, dance, art, circus, comedy, theatre and visual arts.
Head of programming Chloe Goodyear said it was hard to narrow down a list of feature acts from such a diverse and eclectic program.
"This is both a year of firsts along with a year of great past performers returning," she said.
"We are pretty sure there are going to be some delighted supporters and as always, an abundance of new discoveries."
Some of the feature acts performing at this year's festival include Buffy Sainte-Marie, Paul Kelly and Charlie Owen, Dr Karl Kruszelnicki, Urthboy and Judith Lucy.
Puppet maker Daniele Poidomani will also design 14 unique puppets for the event and will feature prominently in both the opening ceremony and The Fire Event, which closes festivities each year.
