The Yarra Valley will play host to the inaugural Victorian “2016 Cider and Pork Festival” among the vines at picturesque Rochford Wines over the Australia Day long weekend .
The two-day extravagant feast will let Victorian revellers celebrate the humble pig and crushed apple - following the success of this annual festival in WA’s Swan Valley over the past three years.
Ice cold from the tap - more than 75 international and Australian ciders will be on showcase - with the opportunity to sample some of Melbourne’s finest dining fare at 15 different food trucks and pop-restaurants from the southern dining capital along with Masterclasses and Q and A sessions for the truly ardent fans.
The Cider & Pork Festival will be showcasing some of the best ciders from all around Australia with more than 15 local hero boutique cider producers in attendance, including- St Ronan’s Cider, Napoleone Cider & Brewery, Willie Smiths Organic Cider, Batlow Cider Co, Hills Cider, Custard & Co, Daylesford Cider Co, Flying Brick, Sidekick Cider, Granite Belt Cider, Aspall Suffolk Cider, Young Henrys and many more.
The Festival will be also showcasing more than 60 different and mouth-watering pork dishes from locally sourced produce and leading Melbourne restaurants and food trucks such as Fancy Hanks, Blue Bonnet BBQ, The Rib Joint, Pulled Kitchen and White Guy Cooks Thai, plus a mouth watering Pig On The Spit as well as beer producers from all around Australia, including- Stone & Wood, Young Henrys, Colonial Brewing Co and Hargreaves Hill Brewing.
"You can be sure that our leading local cider and beer specialists - especially the likes of St Ronan’s, Napoleon Cider and Hargreaves Hill, all from the Yarra Valley region - will find something to tantalize your taste buds with,” said event organizer Jesse Wilson.
Event-goers will have to opportunity to attend a Q and A session with leading cider makers and witness a range of cooking demos by leading Melbourne chefs- and Australasian Barbecue Alliance TV personalities – Jess Pryles from Channel 7’s Aussie BBQ Heroes, Jay Beaumont from Meatstock and BBQ Wars, and Adam Roberts former Deputy Mayor of Port Macquarie – over the two-day festival.
All-day entertainment will include live music featuring live bands, acoustics acts, DJs, buskers and roaming entertainment.
General Admission tickets $40.00 per person including a schooner of cider or beer.
VIP tickets are $175.00 per person - and include exclusive access to the Rochford Restaurant and Garden Lounge area, two free drink tokens and access to one cider masterclass of your choice.
