BRISBANE music lovers will be spoiled for opportunities to hear the "next big voices" in July with a series of eight free cabaret showcases of local talent rolling out across the suburbs.
The hour-long performances will feature dancers, instrumentalists, singers and comedians whose talents have been honed during masterclasses with some of Australia's leading entertainers including Simon Gallaher and Rhonda Burchmore.
It's part of Brisbane City Council and Epiphany Productions' Lord Mayor's Seniors Cabaret Showcase initiative culminating with a Brisbane City Hall ticketed gala concert in late August (tickets $5 on 136-246).
Suburban dates for July are: 10, Carina Leagues Club; 13, Broncos Leagues Club; 17, Kedron-Wavell Servies Club; 19, The Brisbane Powerhouse; 20, Sunnybank Hills Shoppingtown; 25, Wynnum-Manly Leagues Club; 27, Brookside Shopping Centre; 28, Sandgate Town Hall.
