SYDNEYSIDERS will have a chance to embrace the call of the wild without even stepping outside the concrete jungle at the Australian Maritime Museum until October.
The 52nd Wildlife Photographer of the Year Exhibition, on loan from the National History Museum in London, features 100 images, ranging from landscapes to shots of animals depicting their behaviour.
The competition is the most prestigious photography event of its kind and regularly attracts 50,000 entries from 96 countries.
National History Museum head of touring exhibitions, Jan English, said the competition represented the very best in wildlife photography and was one of the museum’s most popular exhibitions.
“These images tell thought-provoking stories about our planet that prompt us all to think differently about the natural world and the future we want to create.”
The exhibition runs until October 9.
The museum, at Darling Harbour, is open 9.30am-5pm. Tickets $20 adults; $12 concessions and children.
