THE cream of jazz talent from around the state and beyond will be on show at a gala concert to celebrate International Jazz Day on April 30.
The concert will feature the world premiere of a new jazz concerto by Grammy Award-winning composer and band leader Gordon Goodwin, along with renowned performer James Morrison and the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra.
Students from the James Morrison Academy in Mount Gambier and the Juilliard School of Music in New York will combine to form the James Morrison Academy Jazz Orchestra for the concert, to be held at the Adelaide Festival Centre.
CONTINUING the jazz theme, Generations in Jazz will take place in Mount Gambier from May 5-7.
It will bring together thousands of young musicians to showcase their talents.
