WITH its spectacular Simpson Desert backdrop, Birdsville music festival the Big Red Bash boasts an atmosphere that must leave other event promoters green with envy.
Tickets are already on sale for the highly popular event, which will be held for the fifth consecutive year from July 4-6.
With its stunning Big Red Dune backdrop, 35km from Birdsville in Queensland, the event offers an atmosphere unlike any other music festival in Australia.
This year’s line up will feature some of Australia’s favourite performers, with headliners including Lee Kernaghan, Missy Higgins, James Reyne, Mark Seymour, Kate Ceberano, Russell Morris, Ian Moss and Ray Ryder.
The final day of the festival will be an epic tribute to much-loved country artist Kernaghan to celebrate the 25th anniversary of his debut album The Outback Club.
His career and the album will be celebrated through the “ultimate anniversary show”, a marathon day-and-night concert.
The day itself will be a gala-style event with performances of Kernaghan’s songs by some of Australia’s favourite artists, culminating with a set by the man himself in the evening.
Kernaghan said celebrating with some of his best friends in such a breathtaking location would be memorable.
“We are putting together a huge show that will be an epic celebration of 25 years of The Outback Club,” he said. “What better place to do that than in the Simpson Desert at the most remote music festival on the planet.”
